Just 25 miles west of Philadelphia, is a small town in Chester County called Malvern. Here, you’ll stumble upon beautiful homes, tree-lined streets and a small-town feeling that’s tough to replicate. With Malvern just a short (express) train ride from two city centers—Philadelphia and New York City—you have easy access to the bustling metropolis, when you crave it, and the quiet and calm respite when you don’t. Here are a few of our favorite Malvern communities, all with home exteriors clad in Hardie® siding and trim.

Chapel Hill

As you drive around Chapel Hill Circle Road there are plenty of beautiful homes to take in. The community was built by Devon Road Partners, L.P., a collaboration between the principals of the Nolen Companies and Vaughan and Sautter Builders, and the small circular nook of new construction homes offer oversized decks overlooking plenty of green open space (all of which the association maintains).

Behind the homes, you’ll stumble upon the township walking trail, great for an evening walk, bike or jog. The home interiors are known for their signature millwork, including beam ceilings, crown molding, and standout custom mantles, while the exteriors are known for low-maintenance combination of natural stone veneer and Hardie® fiber cement siding.

Cedar Run

This estate-studded neighborhood created by Hellings Builders, is a sight to see. The collection of homes in Cedar Run sit on 1+acres of land and feature jaw-dropping pools, well-designed landscaping and exteriors that’ll turn heads. The treelined streets and well-curated community make this neighborhood feel serene and relaxing, but never lacking in luxe amenities.

Pickering Crossing

One-of-a-kind design is at the forefront of this community plan—each home and building exterior is completely unique. Builder Southdown Homes also greatly considered convenience in their plans and made sure the location was close to Malvern shops and resources. The neighborhood has its own bike and fitness trails, recreation area, tot lot, plaza and central green for its residents. We love the home’s secluded rear courtyard, gourmet kitchen with large breakfast room, master suite with generous walk-in closet and cathedral ceiling, and the second-floor laundry room. Everywhere you turn feels well-lit with natural light flooding in, as if to say have a seat, stay a while.

Spring Oak

When crafting this community in the heart of Great Valley, home builder JP Orleans had a traditional neighborhood concept in mind for the community. Here you find traditional homes and a feeling of small-town charm combined with modern living. Sidewalks connect the homes, and walking trails are a short walk away. Homes boast flexible floor plans, personalization options, two-car garages, yards maintained by the homeowner’s association, standout front porches, and a resort-style rec area and swimming pool. With your needs and wants in mind, JP Orleans will personalize a Spring Oak space that feels like home.
